Telecom Operatros Association of Georgia is a author and cooridnator of two projects: Tusheti Community network (http://toa.ge/en/2018/03/19/project-for-tusheti-community-internet-network-georgia/) with support of international organization Internet society (ISOC) and replication of Tusheti project in Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakhari areas as a Community Network project.
Local partner of the project is NGO “Mtis Satemo Kseli” (“Mountain Community Networks”). In the ongoing project with main partners are: Government of Georgia and Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (main donor 96000 USD), Internet Society (ISOC) (direct funding 55 000 USD), Czech Embassy in Tbilisi (direct funding 15 000 EURO), Dusheti Municipal District (direct support 4000 USD and in kind support on sites), Veon Georgia (Beeline Georgia) (in kind support with free colocation on the masts – up to 40 000 USD), with support of the vendors: ltd “Intellcom Group” and ltd Digital technologies L.L.C.(Cambium Georgia), Telecom Operators Association of Georgia’s (author, coordination and monitoring of the project) members SkyTel (transit operator) and NBnet (technical support on the field) , was started Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakhari Community Network and Internet access Project in 2018 and main activities were finished in 2020.
Right now we have covered all small and big gorges of the area such as lower and upper Pshavi, Gometsari and Sharakhevi gorges, Datvisi and Liqoki gorges, Migma Khevi and Arkhoti, lower and upper Khevsureti gorges, Gorshegma and Khakharbo gorges. Project is also covering Gudamakhari three gorges and also Khorkhi gorge. Right now project team is operating 54 masts and sites and a five sites from this 54 are above 2000 and 300 metres from the sea level. Community network is serve to the 384 end users.
