NGO ” Internet Exchange Association of Georgia ” founded with support and coordination of the Telecom Operators Association of Georgia. It’s western Georgia member’s are part of the main organization and the project is very important for development of the Quality of Service (QoS) and a wholesale prices, connectivity security and sustainability of the “Georgian internet”.
Main supporter and a donor of the project is an international organization – Internet Society. Coordinator of this project is Telecom Operators Association of Georgia.
This point of connection will be fully neutral and have to deliver for every interested party peering and IP transit and also connection to the local content. Every member is equal and have one voting voice. membership is open and a majority of members are making the decisions.
Selected geographical point is a center of Western Georgia – near Kutaisi (near the new highway). Every member will pay connection monthly fee per 1GB/10GB/100GB. For non members Geo-IX will have different fee with same steps.
